This is a lovely spot that matches the description and photos in the listing. We loved the back patio and sweet garden and wish we had had time to enjoy the fire pit. The house is beautiful and well maintained, with a great collection of things to read, and Arran was always responsive to our inquiries. The stove was a little quirky, but we got used to it. The kitchen amenities worked well for a two-night stay during which we did basic cooking. My primary suggestions to upgrade this place from a strong 4 overall to a 5 would be to update the beds and sofa bed and consider kitchen items that would be helpful during a longer stay (including wine glasses!). Arran and Melissa have a gem of a place in a lovely neighborhood! I would stay here again.

The house is wonderfully quirky and was a good landing space for our group (3 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) to visit family in town. Linens, bedrooms, and bathrooms were clean. Kitchen was also clean aside from the oven which appears to never have been cleaned (hopefully they remedy that for future guests). The listing has a pull-out couch as a sleeping option, but I would not consider it a realistic one. It is an old mattress/air mattress hybrid with the air mattress part not working so you are asked to use a bean bag thing on top. This couch is also located in the room with the only TV so if someone is sleeping in there, you likely won’t be using the television. The house, as it is, realistically sleeps 4 (double bed, two twin beds). Another thing to note: the bedrooms do not have darkening blinds/shades so there was a lot of sun early and late during our July stay. I am hopeful that the hosts will make adjustments and get the house to a 5-star level! It truly has a ton of potential!

Great house with a fenced yard that our pup loved. Host was really responsive and got us an extra AC unit when we asked. I always try to book based on shower and the shower was great!

The house is super charming. If you’re looking for a sterile and generic hotel-style situation then this is not the place for you. This house has way more charm and character, which is exactly what we wanted. It was clean and the linens were fresh, which is important to me when staying away from home.

What an incredible experience! The home exudes warmth and character, making it a perfect spot for quiet moments. I spent hours reading one of my favorite books and soaking in the beauty of the area. Highly recommend! The local scenery is breathtaking, and there are so many charming spots to explore nearby. It truly felt like a home away from home!

While my husband was staying for work, he was coming down the stairs and they broke. Making him fall down several steps. In which I notified the host of immediately. After week and a half later we get a notice from Bnb that they want $2300 for damages for the stairs, smoke smell, which they said building a fire was acceptable and supplied the kindling and wood, damage to the hearth which was there upon arrival. Not to mention when we got there we had to clean a very gross refrigerator where previous guest had left food in there and it was not cleaned out.

I had a relaxing stay at Arrans place. Arran welcomed me and my dog Simba with open arms! The place was clean, spacious, and well decorated with a great book collection! I cozied up with a Sylvia Plath novel and spent both evenings reading. The only thing I wish the place had was tinder, as I was unable to create a fire in the fireplace without it. Otherwise, a good stay with very responsive host.
