I had a fantastic stay at Carlota and Juan Carlos' apartment. It's beautifully furnished, spacious yet cosy, with lots of interesting books and a pool in the basement - perfect in my opinion! The lower east side is a nice mix of quieter areas that feel more "suburban" and busier areas with shops, restaurants, culture etc. Subway is a 10 min walk away and there's a bus stop right outside. I found some combination of these took me anywhere I needed to go, uptown or in Brooklyn. Carlota and JC were star hosts, genuinely caring and helpful whenever problems arose (which wasn't often). Highly recommended.

I am going to echo what everybody else has written. Carlota’ apartment is very open with lots of sunlight and lots of space, pretty unusual for New York city. It is decorated very well and the furniture is modern and very usable. The location seems very safe albeit a little distant from the hopping east village scene. For us this was great as we were attending the U.S. Open. All in all a very nice apartment that worked well for us.

Carlota was a brilliant host, from beginning to end. The apartment was sparkling clean and had just the perfect amount of space, charm and furnishings. Simple and elegant are the words that come to mind. The location is perfect, central to everything I needed/wanted. Carlota was quick to answer questions, provide information and make suggestions for local eateries and interesting destinations. She was very gracious and patient with all of my questions. The apartment has a fabulous, uncrowded lap swimming pool, which was pure icing on the cake. The common areas were clean and well lit, safe and quiet. The main bed was incredibly comfortable. In the second sleeping area, I was reluctant about the air mattress & I let Carlota know. She assured me that it was very comfortable; and she was 100% correct. I was shocked, as I have slept on many air mattresses in my lifetime and have NEVER slept well on one. Somehow Carlota found the one comfortable air mattress on the market. Given the lack of insulation on an air mattress, I needed to place a blanket between the mattress and the bottom sheet, which worked perfectly. I would absolutely stay at Carlota's and Juan's place again. I give this Air BnB host, and apartment, an A++.

Carlota place is great, spacious, with an amazing living room, fully equipped kitchen, a massive TV and good WiFi. Location is great for LES restaurant scene…. Would’ve expected in-unit laundry as per listing. Instead it was in the basement (no big deal, just unusual for Europeans). Would’ve loved a few more towels, and an extra set of keys for convenience. The second bed in the living room (sofa bed) requires some deep sleep to function well. But all in all a good place to hang and explore NYC.

Staying a Carlota's was a breath of fresh air in NYC! The apartment is cozy, sunny, and close to public transportation which is essential in New York. Carlota was always on top of replying any questions I might have had. Very friendly and a great hostess!
