10/10 stay. I know where I’ll be booking when i visit again.I have never stayed in an Bnb that had so much time and love poured into it. “Better to have too much than too little” seems to be at the heart of their efforts. Hiokit & Harold made the home feel like a special getaway with accommodations to spare. Unbelievably clean. Toiletries in abundance. Tiny treats and snacks available. Keurig in the bedroom? Trust me you’ll appreciate it after a long night in the streets of NY. Oh and the mini journals for guests to leave behind their best memories was so endearing. Strangers passing through being able to connect without ever meeting warmed the place up even more than the already beautiful decor.

Amazing stay. She doesn’t miss a thing. Truly everything we needed and more. Safe, cozy, but plenty of room for two adults. A nice quiet room after a long day/night in the city. Q55 a block away, will take you where you need to go.. Fresh Pond is a 15 minute walk, not bad. I can’t wait to come back! My daughter and I had a wonderful visit!

To sum it up in the beginning: our stay was perfect. The main argument for us was the affordable apartment with only 45 min to Manhattan. In Addition it was clean, quite and welcoming. There were many thoughtful touches for travelers, in case we had forgotten something. The location was quiet, however, it was close to public transportation (to bus 5min walk, to metro 15min walk). Hiokit was very quick to respond to our inquiries. We truly enjoyed our stay and are thankful for the experience!

I looooove this home! Definitely one of my favorites I’ve stayed in. My boyfriend and I visit about twice a year, so that’s totally saying something. Hosts were so responsive + checking in every now and then, making sure we had everything we needed. Know that this location is about an hour away from the city, but the price and homey feeling makes it so worth it. I will definitely be back (hopefully sooner rather than later.) 🥰

Hiokit's place is very clean and the shared spaces are very spacious! The private bathroom is very clean and convenient and all bedding was pristine. The bed is very comfortable and the huge advantage of the stay was how quiet the place is. The neighbourhood and all those living in the house were barely detectable how quiet it was. Rare in any other borough in New York. Two downsides to be aware of: the area is quite difficult to get to from La Guardia as it is in a subway blindspot. MTA buses are not super dependable. Secondly the house was quite cold without any effective way to make it warmer! It is an old house with a lot of space but luckily the room can be warmed with a heater inside. All in all was a wonderful experience staying with Hiokit.

Came to NYC with the worst weather ever but Hiokit's place definitely bringtened up our days. Hiokit has done an amazing job putting together all the furniture and appliances to make the place feel like home. And yes it absolutely did! Hiokit was so helpful too when it comes to clearing up any confusion we had about the neighborhood/ recommendations for famous destinations or the homey bnb itself. Truly recommended this place if you dont mind transiting a bit further to NYC (transitting was not that bad too).Thanks again for everything Hiokit ;)

I can't say enough good things about Hiokit and her Bnb! My husband and I stayed there for 10 days and from our very first communication with Hiokit I knew I had lucked on a true gem of a place and of a person. Hiokit has thought of everything you could need - and even put little things around that you didn't know you needed until you saw them. :) Everything was sparkling clean and well organized. Having our own private bathroom was wonderful and Hiokit thoughtfully provided shampoo, etc. for her guests. Beyond the cozy and well organized place is just an incredible feeling of welcome and care that Hiokit and Harold have created for their guests. I feel so incredibly fortunate that we got to stay at their place and I'm so grateful to them for creating such a welcoming and comfortable place to stay in New York. They are the best!

I had made the wonderful decision to stay at Hiokit’s this Christmas holiday. 🥰 Hiokit’s place is adorable in the way they decorate their furniture, scatter interactable pieces for their guests, to even the little snacks they provide. The description had matched exactly what was provided and everything was comfortable and clean.The only slight downside to this house is its location. It’s quite a ways to the nearest train station to reach the city, however, I had a wonderful time and this house felt just at home. If you’re looking for a place to stay in New York, I highly recommend Hiokit’s. 💖

Hiokit's house is visually beautiful, very clean and well organized, quiet. Everything - from access to everyday functionality is very well thought out and documented - she seems to really like being a host and has created a very welcoming vibe. She also responds virtually instantaneously to any questions messaged to her. The neighborhood is pleasant, safe and walkable - but note that the nearest subway stops are a little distant. It worked well for us since we were driving - and on-street parking wasn't too difficult. Part of the reason the house is so clean is that outside shoes aren't allowed inside - so be sure to bring some slippers!
