This apartment is in a central location handy to public transport and great for transit to/from JFK. The apartment was indeed super quiet, and also felt safe and secure, and was really warm and cozy while it was quite freezing outside. We loved having a bathtub (lots of walking in NYC meant tired legs at the end of busy days) and the beautiful tree outside the bedroom window was just coming into bloom at the end of our March stay. The new kitchen is stylish and well-equipped. Our only notes are that the bed (the equivalent of an Australian double size) was very tight for two adults, especially for a longer stay, and the couch was not the most comfortable. James was such a nice and responsive host, we really enjoyed meeting him and felt fully supported during our stay. Overall this was a great value option for our month-long NYC adventure and we would recommend it.

Jim was very accommodating, was very easy to contact and the apartment was perfect for what we needed. The location is very convenient! The only negatives were it got very hot but that was due to the old building and pipes running through and also often a night people were hanging about the entrance, but they were harmless!Thanks Jim, would love to come back if ever in NYC!

James was incredibly flexible and kind, we landed in NY on thanksgiving and despite being at a dinner, he met with us for check in. The apartment is incredibly close to everything, I would say it is a walkable distance to Central Park, but if you prefer you are a two minute walk from the subway stations. Lots of coffee and breakfast options in the area and the High Line is incredibly close for a walk to the Chelsea Market. James was attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here!

The apartment is cozy and cute! The neighborhood is quiet, close to transportation, and very walkable. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a nice grocery store nearby. James is a great host - very friendly and flexible! I was in town to run the NYC Marathon and the location is close to the expo and subway to take to the ferry on race morning. So much more convenient and comfortable than a hotel!

James was lovely and very fast in responding. He met us in person and even helped us with the lugguage carrying it to the 4th floor. He was always available on whats up and we felt really well looked after by James. We could even check in earlier which was so helpful! The flat is a decent size for a couple. It was clean, however you cannot forget that this is a very old building, so lots of spots of paint and dust in the corners, which i am sure its none of James's fault - its just down to the age of the building. The area is fantastic, and it is surprisingly quiet at night. Hardly any noise, even though you are in a lively neighbourhood.The bathroom was tiny, the showerhead absolutely unacceptable and needs replacing asap as it was heavily mouldy and not very inviting to shower as i am sure that is a health hazard and should not be ok by any means. The towels did not feel freshly washed. The bed was quite small for a couple and my partner found it very uncomfortable.

Easy to find. Being around the corner of Madison, not for from Penn Station was ideal to go out and explore. Although located in the center, it was quit to sleep.Ideal supermarket to do some grocery shopping is just a few mins away.Communications with James was solid. James is was helpful and accomodating. The apartment is great, it has everything you need and plenty of space for two people. I really loved the location, just over a block away from the High Line, Chelsea, and Penn Station, making it easy to get anywhere in the city. If you drive in, there's a parking garage almost right across the street that was extremely convenient. We had a great stay, great trip.

James’ place is perfect for a centralized NYC location. You’re a 6 minute walk from Penn Station and two subway stops away from Broadway shows. We loved how accessible everything was. The apartment was as described and the bed was very comfortable with an AC unit in the bedroom, which was a must. Had everything we needed and James was so helpful, attentive and even carried our luggage up and down the walk-up!

We spent six days in James Apartment and enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood (Also, it was in the middle of Manhattan). The Penn Station, with trains both to EWR and JFK airport, is just around the corner. And the bed was very comfortable. As the older you get, as more critical it becomes. We would love to go again.

We LOVED staying at James’ place. The location really can’t be beat. It’s a block from Penn Station/Moynihan Hall and the bike rentals, which we used exclusively, were right around the corner. Another great stay at James' place. A spacious true 1 BR apartment with everything you'll need in the kitchen, an AC window unit, on a quiet street, with easy quick walks to Chelsea, the flower district, fashion district and Times Square, with still relatively short walk to other parts of NY. Maybe a 30 min walk down to Soho, or to Union Square, a bit longer to Tribecca. Very close to metros and cross-town buses. We'll be back.

A home away from home. James’ apartment was clean, cosy & yet surprisingly spacious.Set back off the main hustle and bustle it was nice and quiet given the central location. Only a small amount of road noise was heard during our stay.The location was great - being so close to the high line meant that a quiet stroll down to Chelsea market or pier 57 was super easy. This is a cute Chelsea apartment with a large kitchen/diner, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom with a powerful shower. There are great amenities provided throughout the apartment. Lots of lovely little touches too. It's air conditioned. The bed is comfortable. There is shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided, plus verbena lemon hand wash. The host, James, is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Chelsea location is fabulous. Two blocks from the highline. Two blocks from Penn station. Easy to get to everything. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again. This place comes highly recommended from me.

He met us at check-in and carried our big suitcase up the stairs. He checked in by text the day after arrival to make sure everything was okay.
