First things first, this place is in a very convenient location! Very walkable, and is a short walk from lots of great shops and restaurants in LES. It’s also a short walk from a lot of subway stations too, if you wanted to go to other parts of NY. As for the place itself, it’s small but homey - it’s clean and everything works. It does get cold at night so bring warm PJs. It can also get occasionally loud on weekend nights when people walk by, but that’s to be expected given that we’re in Manhattan and for the most part my partner and I slept very well. Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance to!

We stayed at Mich's place for about two weeks with our dog - it was great being in such a fun and happening area, and being so close to the park. We made use of the futon, which was comfortable and the host provided extra sheets for it. There were a few small things that could have been improved - we had to check in a few hours late due to the cleaning schedule and while the space was surface-level clean, there were some dirty areas throughout the apartment. It's a north-facing apartment so it doesn't get much natural light and there were a few lightbulbs out, which made the space pretty dark throughout the day. However, the appliances & AC all worked and the location and value was a plus!

Mich’s listing was exactly as described. The location was perfect, near tons of restaurants and cute shops off of Tompkins Square Park. A nice walk to Union Square uptown and to Katz’s deli downtown. Mich was very helpful in her communication about checking in, cleanliness, and the overall accommodations. We would definitely stay again!

Good location but poor property. Has potential...hope it gets fixed up. Not as described or pictured. Full of clutter, closet was big but had no usable space due to all the junk stored there, one working AC but filthy. Other not working and equally filthy. Windows filthy. Shades disgusting. Old mismatched linens. Double bed placed right under loud AC. Bathroom not remodeled. Not much auto traffic but lots of noise from pedestrians late weekend nights. Room is right above building front door.

A sweet place in a really great location. Excellent value compared to similar apartments or hotels in the area. The building is quiet and the bed very comfortable. Mich was responsive and communicative, accommodating my special request without any problems. The location is wonderful, iconic neighborhood. I enjoyed bumping into the nearby “La Plaza Cultural”, a community garden where I saw a fascinating free performance in the evening and escaped the heat and buzz during the midday next day on a bench in a hidden corner under the trees during. Another highlight was to dine in the “Veselka”, a nearby Ukrainian restaurant. Great vibes, thank you.

Great little place. Good size for NYC. Good WiFi. Comfy bed, good shower and a compact but v. useful little kitchen. Even a toaster oven for toasting bagels from Thompkins Square Bagels just across the park. Fairly quiet street but can get noisy on Saturday nights, easily solved with ear-plugs. Mitch was great at communication and the self check-in was great. Location can't be beat - close to subway, bus line and lots of fun restaurants. Great East Village vibe.

A really wonderful spot in the East Village/Alphabet City!! Location truly can't be beat. Mich was wonderful and responsive, as well as flexible and accommodating. A fantastic host! Every part of the experience was a pleasure. It's a great size place and can't beat for the price and location. You feel right at home right away. It is a quiet and peaceful building and then you have the park and all the best the East Village has just steps away. I rented in this area a few years ago and you get so much at Mich's for what you're paying regarding NYC real estate if you're doing a longer stay, and it's less money than nearby hotels and with way more space. This really was an incredible find and I would stay there again!!

Mich was a friendly, helpful and communicative host. I was in an emergency situation needing a place to stay and her self check in and prompt reply to my request totally saved me! It was such a luxury to have a place all to myself and the location was close to the subway so it was easy to make my way around the city. I would recommend this place, and Mich, and will definitely always check to see if it’s available when I come to town.

I had a lovely stay. The apartment was quiet, comfortable and the location was perfect. So close to the park and the cafes etc. Mitch had thought of so many lovely touches such as the ear plugs, coffee, shampoo and so on. I wish I had booked it for longer. Homie, cute place. Great location so close to Tompkins Square, Park. Really great restaurants and cafés nearby. A nice walk across the park And you were on the main drag of Saint Marks. Make sure to hit East Village Books, a True throwback to the 70s and 80s era in the neighborhood. Right across from that is Led Zeppelin‘s legendary physical graffiti building. So many other historical places. Don’t miss search and destroy punk rock clothing shop and Kenka, Great Japanese traditional food at incredible prices. I think the owner of those two businesses owns that building. They have $10 accommodation meals, and one dollar and 50 Cent beers in a kinky funny Japanese oriented atmosphere with great music playing in the background.

This place was great and super cozy. The bedroom is very large and a bright, sunny color. You really can't beat the location, right in the heart of the East Village. My dog loved being across the street from the dog park. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. Mich was super helpful and responsive if anything ever came up. I had a great stay.
